I have just had an intense but very rewarding and enlightening two days!
The Lodge Group team have just been on a Mental Health First Aid training course. This course enabled me to gain an in-depth understanding of mental health and the factors that can affect wellbeing. I also learnt practical skills which will help me spot trigger signs and feel more confident stepping in and helping others.
As business/team leaders, we must encourage and promote mental health in the same way as physical health. De-stigmatising mental ill-health and enabling everyone to feel confident to talk about it openly must be a priority. It is also vital to make sure you invest time in your own personal mental health and wellbeing. I will definitely be taking a new approach back to the workplace.
Many thanks to My Mental Health First Aid England www.mhfaengland.org
